Hi Jason, I have a question regarding using a remote key to roll windows down. Can a smart key do that? I need to purchase one if it does. Thank you. Hi Jason, Yes a smart key is required in order to roll down the windows by hitting the unlock button.
EX models and above come standard with this feature. Not necessarily. Some remote key fobs say hold for the sliding doors on an odyssey and the remote key also says hold on the horn button. If your key fob has a remote starter it should have an arrow symbol that makes a circle unless you have an aftermarket remote car starter.
Honda smart Keys do not have a rolling code to my knowledge. Not many cars do until you get into the higher end brands.
My problem is that when I turn the car and shut door and lock it the exterior lights do not go on at all. Below is a youtube link showing how to set this as well. Hi Mark, thank you for the information. Makes sense to only work during the night time when you need lighting outside. Had to use the actual key. Thread starter Kream85 Start date Jan 11, Kream85 Member. Well today my wife was unable to get into the car today. She walked up as normal and put her hands behind the handle and the car didn't unlock. She tried to use the key fob but that didn't work, neither the unlock or lock button seemed to have any effect on the car. However, the car did register the trunk to be opened and the button presses were registering on the key fob.
Needless to say I'm happy I showed her the real key in the fob just last week. Any thoughts, insights? If the trunk button works which is an actual button and not the door handle which is notthen it seems like the problem is the front key transponder or the door handle sensor wasn't working.
Was it raining or had it rained? Was the car washed recently or super dirty? Was she wearing gloves or anything? If this happens again, try the -other- key fob. Swiper Member. It finally unlocked when I used the button on the fob, but this was very puzzling.
